CIMA Employability Workshop 2019

CIMA Employability Workshop –  2019

Being a CIMA representative at the Lincoln International Business School (LIBS), my aim is to strengthen our relationship with CIMA, alongside with other professional bodies. The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) is the world’s leading and largest professional body of management accountants. This year, I organised an employability workshop in collaboration with CIMA on Monday 11th February 2019 for our Year 3 students from the BA (Hons) Accountancy & Finance as part of one of their core modules –  Advanced Management Accountancy (AMA). It was a successful event structured around a business game with high attendance and levels of engagement.

Special thanks go to Joanne Monkman for an inspiring session focused on assessment centre tasks, graduate jobs, and interview tips. The feedback from our students was highly positive as they found this session very useful and relevant to their ongoing graduate job applications. Here is the feedback from CIMA about this event:

“The students really got involved in the business game and showed some amazing initiative, in fact the winning team came up with an outstanding way of showing their recommendations one which I’ve never seen before which was great. It was lovely to see how well they all worked in teams and how much interest they showed in learning about CIMA graduate schemes and how to impress at assessment centres.”

Well done to all our students for their incredible engagement and creativity! Congratulations to 3 winner-teams for providing most interesting recommendations and fascinating poster designs. The winners were awarded with a CIMA certificate of recognition for an outstanding performance in the CIMA Business Game.

I look forward to working with CIMA and organising similar events for the next group of students in the 2019/20 academic year.
