Global Month Concludes with Award Celebration Evening

The end of April saw the conclusion of Global Month, four weeks of exciting, engaging and collaborative events, celebrating our global community and the various cultures that exist within our student body.

Staff and students from across the University were involved, with some participants already signed up to the Global Certificate, a scheme devised by the Global Experiences team (GET), to recognise and reward students for their interaction in activities designed to increase their global mindset as well as being a part of the enriching University of Lincoln global community.

To mark the end of the events, a Global Certificate awards celebration was held virtually on Friday 30th April, with fifteen students from across the University being awarded their bronze, silver, gold or platinum Global certificates by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Craig Marsh.

Global Month

The awards celebration provided staff and students with the opportunity to reflect on the past month with Global Experiences manager, Judy Turner, commenting: “Collaboration across university departments, alongside the hard work put in by the GET team, has really started to establish a strong cross-campus global community that encompasses all of our wonderful students.

“Feedback from Global Certificate reflections is testament to students feeling part of our wider university community which we are so pleased to have achieved during a very difficult year.

“We very much appreciate continued buy-in across Lincoln International Business School from all Heads of Departments and academics who have shared our event information and who see the value in creating globally aware and community spirited students, thank you for your continued support.

The Global Experience team are already planning the next Global Month for November 2021, If you would like to be involved or put forward suggestions please contact the team here.
