Stocking Up on Festive Treats at German Christmas Market

Stocking Up on Festive Treats at German Christmas Market

On Wednesday 16th December German students, alongside the LIBS Global Experiences Team organised and hosted a Christmas Market.

The event was held in the atrium of the David Chiddick Building, home of the Lincoln International Business School and counted towards the students Global Certificate Platinum Award.  The festive celebration included a variety of stalls with traditional German Christmas snacks, mulled wine, hot chocolate and several craft stalls with activities such as making your own snowman, gingerbread house, along with a wheel of fortune! There was also a very popular game of group Christmas bingo!

The occasion was very well attended, with students and staff enjoying seasonal music along with the chance to meet and catch up with peers before the Christmas break.  Alongside the German Christmas Market the Global Experiences Team also held a ‘Secret Santa Pick-Up’, which was a new experience for most of the students taking part and they really enjoyed choosing their gift.

Rebecca Cardell, Global Experiences Engagement Coordinator commented

The event had a really authentic German Christmas market feel, getting everyone into the festive spirit! It was so rewarding to see students participating, with many sharing their own cultural experiences and teaching one another how to say ‘Merry Christmas’ in their first language!
