Agreement of Scholarship – University of Lincoln and Brac University, Bangladesh

The Lincoln International Business School, (LIBS), was delighted to welcome Professor Vincent Chang, Vice Chancellor of Brac University, Bangladesh, between the 1st and 3rd March.

The visit allowed for further enhancement of the commitment between the two institutions, with an agreement of scholarship signed between Lincoln Vice Chancellor Professor Neal Juster and Professor Chang.  From 2023 this will allow Brac students to enrol on LIBS programmes and graduate from the University of Lincoln having already completed part of their Bachelor of Business Administration program in Bangladesh. Brac students will also be eligible to receive an exclusive scholarship of £5,000 for the first year of studies at Lincoln.

Along with the formal signing ceremony with the Vice Chancellor, Professor Chang also met Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Andrew Hunter, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Craig Marsh and other members of the LIBS Senior Leadership Team.  Professor Chang also attended informal sessions within lectures and seminars. Brac University shares LIBS’ interests in sustainability, social enterprise and tertiary education. This trip also allowed for preliminary discussions in cognate areas of collaboration with an emphasis on developing global citizenship in students through alliances on business challenge projects linked to social enterprise.

Dr Mahfuzur Rahman, Associate Professor and Regional Academic Lead commented

“By having a scholarship arrangement with BRAC University, we will not only recognise BRAC’s global stature as a social NGO who championed the empowering of the disadvantaged, and worked for the eradication of poverty, but also as symbolic of the values that it espoused”.
