Partnership Exploration Visit to Harlaxton Manor

Partnership Exploration Visit to Harlaxton Manor

On the 23rd November, University of Lincoln staff representing the four Colleges visited Harlaxton Manor, Grantham on a visit organised by Abi Hunt.  Harlaxton is an overseas study centre for the University of Evansville, USA

The Centre is recognised nationally for developing students’ personal and professional competencies, cultivating critical and creative thinkers, and producing ethical, global citizens equipped to thrive in a world of complexity and change. They accomplish this by attracting and retaining talented and motivated students who succeed within a diverse, supportive, and sustainable environment. Harlaxton College and the University of Lincoln have an existing relationship and the purpose of the visit on the 23rd November was to develop this further. University of Lincoln staff went with the aim of exploring potential other areas for collaboration.

Abi Hunt, Chris Jackson, Cristina Cherino and Jordan Day attended on behalf of the Business School to scope out potential areas for collaboration. Their initial ideas following the visit include:

  • Help develop exchange opportunities between the Lincoln and Grantham areas with Harlaxton and America beginning with a buddying system to enhance cultural awareness and familiarity.
  • Develop research opportunities with the possibility of conducting a face to face Collaborative Online International learning, (COIL), style project
  • Develop student projects with a joint Harlaxton/LIBS business style event.

If you have any connections, or ideas on how the work between LIBS and Harlaxton can be developed, please contact Abi Hunt.
