Post Graduate Students Participate in Business School Branding Challenge

120 International students participated in a Leadership Challenge Day organised by Lincoln International Business School, (LIBS), on the 11th January.

Hosted within the Engine Shed, this exciting event allowed Management students to utilise their studies to help develop the LIBS brand.  They researched factors which can influence an international student’s choice of university, as well as completing market research on Lincoln and four other business schools, comparing brand strengths as well as limitations.

Each team developed a brand strategy including brand objectives, positioning and identity as well as target audience along with a marketing plan specifically aimed at attracting key stakeholders. LIBS Marketing Manager Tarzem Shoker commented:

The insights from the group presentations will feed into the current brand review. The International Postgraduate market is a key audience for us and as such understanding their needs is imperative. The presentations they compiled combines desk top research and personal perceptions which is what will help shape our brand positioning”

Students were effusive with their feedback including:

It was really helpful for me to learn how to lead a business and team”and “for me, collaboration is success, and that it what the event was about”.

Associate Professor in Leadership Hilary Duckett commented:

The event successfully fulfilled two aims, that of developing the leadership and team skills of the students whilst engaging them in problem based learning, as well as contributing to a part of their portfolio assessment. We witnessed a plethora of skills being utilised, from presentation skills to networking, all aspects which will stand them in good stead as graduates”

With thanks to all those staff and students who participated so enthusiastically to the organisation and delivery of this event.
