Lincoln Student Managed Investment Fund Continue Winning Streak

The Lincoln Student Managed Investment Fund (LSMIF) from Lincoln International Business School, (LIBS), attended the 2nd Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) Conference at the University of York on the 8th and 9th March where they accepted two awards.

Academics from the UK, US and Europe presented their research on investment strategies with industrial experts discussing sustainable investing and global investment trends. It was a great experience for LIBS students and staff to meet and discuss with executives from leading investment banks such HSBC Asset Management, Blackrock, Citi, IG and Santander etc as well as networking with graduates from SMIFs.  This allowed LIBS students to discuss their experience with SMIFs and how their future careers could benefit with SMIF involvement.

The LIBS LSMIF were finalists in two competitions with winners announced at the conference.  The team were delighted to win the 2ndInvestment Prize for Stock Pitching Competition and the 3rd prize for the Poster Competition.  The Investment Competition Prize was sponsored by HSBC with the winners directly selected by Chief Information Officer.

Dr Hao Quach comments

“I am delighted for our students to participate with this international conference involving academic and industry speakers from the UK, US and Europe.  Learning more about the connection between academic research and professional practice, current economic and investment perspectives, sustainable investing, the jobs market and the importance of the SMIF as an education in finance is vital for their educational development. The LIBS LSMIF continues to receive award recognition and prestige which suggests it is operating effectively in terms of leadership, finance and investment education. Our strategy for the coming years is to focus on ESG and sustainable investing”.
