Advertising and Marketing Students Fulfil Local Business Brief

A collaborative assessment project between second year Advertising and Marketing and Creative Advertising students culminated on the 19th May with an exhibition showcasing their work which was undertaken with the local business community.

As part of the Media Planning for Advertising Module, students were given a brief from local organisations to develop a bespoke media plan for their business.  This provided students with context about the organisation and the goals they wanted to achieve.

The completed media plans were then transferred to Creative Advertising students who worked in groups to create the visual representation of the media plan, for example, developing a new campaign concept. This was followed up by the design of a poster to display their work at the exhibition.

Eighteen clients from the local Lincoln business community benefitted from the students’ expertise and Adam Davey, Director of Petaurum HR commented that the suggestions put forward had already been implemented in his company, with great success. Eira Hammond from the County Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society added that thanks to a Tiktok campaign they have reached 24% of their target audience, an increase of 14 percentage points above the intended goal.
