University of Lincoln Alumni’s Award Celebrated in Ghanaian Press

Congratulations to a Lincoln International Business School alumni student, Jacob Tettey Diameh, who has recently been celebrated by top Ghanaian news agencies following his Student Union’s 2020 ‘Swanny Award’.

Citi News, amongst others, covered Jacob’s academic and extra-curricular achievements during his educational career, particularly noting his award, whilst raising both the profile of Jacob, and the University, within Ghana and beyond.

A Lincoln SU representative commented on the award: “The 2020 Swanny award for Intercultural Impact was awarded to Jacob for promoting cultural awareness, dialogue and interaction across campus.

“He showed commitment to maintaining a culturally inclusive and supportive campus environment for all students, and acted as an advocate for diversity and integration at the University of Lincoln.

“The Student Leaders and the whole SU want to congratulate Jacob on his hard work this year.”

Jacob was a worthy winner; as well as achieving a Bronze award in the ‘B Global’ scheme in recognition of the array of international trips and events he participated in as a Lincoln International Business School student, Jacob also took the time to ensure he supported fellow students in person, and by representing their interests at various university committees such as the Academic Board.

As an international student, Jacob was passionate about working with staff to ensure that students who come to Lincoln from across the globe are fully supported and achieve, both socially and academically.

Jacob hopes that his experience of accessing higher education abroad, and all that he has achieved will help to inspire the younger generation in his home country.  He commented: “I hope that this will serve as a source of motivation and hope for Ghanaian youths wishing to study in UK and at the University of Lincoln.

“I am honoured to have received the ‘Swanny award’, and that Ghana, the University of Lincoln, and Regent University are proud of me, and that means a lot.”
