Director Business Development Celebrates Institute of Director’s Shortlisting

Lincoln International Business School (LIBS) is delighted to announce that Director of Business Development, Ruchi Aggarwal, has been shortlisted as a finalist for the IoD Midlands Director of the Year 2020, for the category ‘Innovation’.

Ruchi devised and led the ‘Resilient Lincolnshire’ campaign, an innovative digital platform that, throughout the pandemic, supported and inspired the business community. Discussion panels, featuring prominent professionals and industry experts, attracted large audiences, not only within the County, but across the world.

The success of the campaign attracted the attention of the judging panel, who recognised the innovation, impact and importance of the work undertaken by Ruchi and the Business Development Team at LIBS.  The IoD noted that 2020 will go down as one of unprecedented challenge and change and added their congratulations in being shortlisted amongst a high calibre of entries.

Since March, the Resilient Lincolnshire series has hosted over 40 online discussion panels, leading to 60,000 + unique views across social media platforms. As well as external guest speakers, a large number of UoL academics have collaborated, sharing their expertise and engaging with industry. This has, in turn, created impact outcomes such as publications, case studies and even invitations to host webinars overseas.

Ruchi commented on her place as finalist: “Being judged a finalist by an industry body as prestigious as the IOD is an immense honour for me. The past half year has been challenging for all businesses and our resilience as a business school to re-pivot efficiently and offer the industry continued support through it all, has been a highly humbling experience. The impact of what we achieved is a great testimony to the strong and committed team I work with and the focus of the Business School, towards excellence.”

Dr.Craig Marsh, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Director of LIBS commented: As a College we are delighted that Ruchi has been shortlisted for Midlands Director of 2020 in the Innovation category. The Resilient Lincolnshire concept is truly that, innovative, and has, over the past eight months brought together a remarkable array of professionals to provide insight and support to a global audience. High engagement and positive feedback has demonstrated that the Resilient Lincolnshire campaign has certainly ‘filled a gap’ and helped SMEs to international organisations.”

The awards ceremony takes place virtually on the November, 12, and we wish Ruchi and all other nominees the very best of luck.
