Top 100 Ranking for Lincoln International Business School Lecturer

DEAS RePEc have ranked Lincoln International Business School Economics lecturer, Dr. Aleksandar Vasilev, 84th out of 4303 economists working in the UK, based on his research output over the last ten years.

IDEAS is the largest bibliographic database dedicated to Economics and is available freely on the Internet. Based on RePEc (Research Papers in Economics Repository), it indexes over 3,300,000 items of research, including over 3,000,000 that can be downloaded in full text.

The Authors10 Ideas Repec ranking is dynamic; every time a paper is published in a journal, it adds to the author’s research score.

An algorithm based on impact factor of the journal, where it was published and the number of citations it receives generates the score.

With a research focus of predominantly macroeconomics, Aleks unifies several different strands of literature by studying the interplay with the monetary side, public finance, labour economics, environmental aspects, as well as engaging in some pure theoretical endeavours dealing with the problems of aggregation and insurance-markets.

Just seven years post Viva, Aleksandar is now the proud author of two books, 80 plus published articles and has around twenty further papers in the pipeline.

Aleks commented on the ranking: “Authors10 ranking purely takes into account research undertaken in the past ten years, making it an informative tool for early career researchers like myself.

“Besides the visibility, and being recognised as an expert in the field, we, as teaching scholars are obliged to feed our research output forward, incorporating our findings in our teaching as part of the knowledge dissemination process.

“We are ensuring that the next generation of economists are introduced to the latest developments in the field, and, as a result better prepared for the challenges they may decide to address tomorrow.”

Head of Department, Siobhan Goggin commented: “It is great to see Aleks being recognised for his research activity in the economics field in the UK, he is in good company, just below someone from LSE and just above someone from Oxford.

“This is an excellent achievement and indeed Aleks has moved up 20 places from his position last year.  We have a great Economics team and this is another positive outcome for AFE this year. Well done Aleks”
