LIBS Students Organise International Conference

The Lincoln International Business School (LIBS), is delighted to advise that the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF), in conjunction with academics from the department of Accountancy, Finance, and Economics, have held their first International Student Conference with the School of Banking and Finance, National Economics University, (NEU), Hanoi.

With the Accountancy, Finance, and Economics department having already established a flourishing partnership with NEU, the conference is among a wide range of planned collaborative activities which will only act to further enhance the student experience.

This first event on the 27th November began with an opening speech from the NEU Deputy Vice Chancellor and focussed on the Vietnamese economy and the impact of Covid-19.  Presentations were prepared and delivered by NEU students, followed by questions and comments from LSMIF members, who provided insight on the UK economy.

In total, circa 70 students from both Universities attended this virtual, international event, with plenty of interest from academics, and potential follow up within the Vietnam Economic Times.

Dr Hao Quach, Associate Professor / Programme Leader, commented: “We are delighted that this international collaboration, even in the midst of a global pandemic, is providing an opportunity for mutual learning for the young people of both Universities.

“We, along with Leaders at the NEU recognise the benefits that this strategic partnership will bring for our students and staff and look forward to many more events in the future.”
