MBA Students studying Marketing Management work with MediBioSense, an Industry Leader using AI Technology

Working with industries provides valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange and co-production of unique training experiences. MBA students studying a Marketing Management module at Lincoln International Business School, University of Lincoln have an opportunity to work on a Postgraduate (PGT) Marketing Research Project with an industry leader using AI technology in the healthcare industry, MediBioSense.

CEO and founder of MediBioSense, Simon Beniston, visited the University to deliver an inspirational talk introducing his company. Following this, MBA students enjoyed the hospitality of MediBioSense on October 5th gaining the insight required to embark on their project of marketing this hi-tech business.

MediBioSense was the Innovation Winner 2020, 2018 and 2016 in the UK Business Awards. In addition, tech entrepreneur Simon was awarded as the finalist of the 2015 UKTI Mobile Heath App of the Year.

Simon was pleased to speak with the students and was delighted to see them engaged in real-world marketing practices. Similarly, the students found great value in the opportunity to build upon their classroom-based knowledge and were excited to work with MediBioSense to put theory into practice and gain valuable experience to help them in their studies and future careers.

The PGT Marketing Research project is led by Dr Jialin Hardwick, Senior Lecturer, Lincoln International Business School. Jialin commented, “We’ve worked with MediBioSense developing knowledge exchange successfully for several years, MBA students explored the markets and marketing strategies for the hi-tech firm by applying relevant theories they learnt in classes, it’s also a good opportunity for practising their critical thinking.

“I thank Simon for taking the time to share his entrepreneurial spirit and ambition, and for the support to the industry engagement by Research and Enterprise department at the University to enrich students’ experiences and develop their research capacity.”

The Postgraduate student project on Marketing of a New Product/Service contributes to research conducted on behalf of the University of Lincoln and has received a favourable ethical opinion by a University Research Ethics Committee (2021-0831). This project is also supported by Marketing Department at Lincoln International Business School and Research and Enterprise Department, University of Lincoln.
