Senior Lecturer James Wright was delighted to represent the University of Lincoln and ACCA when he delivered an online session organised in conjunction with the ACCA and Universitas Kristen Petra, Indonesia.
Due to the difference in time zones, James joined the session at 4am BST with the audience comprising of undergraduate and high school students from across Indonesia who are interested in studying accountancy either at home or overseas.
The two hour interactive seminar included input from Petra Christian University academics as well as the Head of Accounting Professional Body ACCA for Indonesia, Hani Karunia.
James led the students through the various career pathways that an education in accountancy can progress to, along with what it is like to study at the University of Lincoln and be a student on Accountancy programmes delivered by the Lincoln International Business School.
The main focus of the presentation was on the impact of big data – how it affects our everyday lives and digital accounting.

Feedback from the event has been very positive with the Indonesian ACCA team reaching out to James to discuss future sessions, along with potential collaborations with partner institutions in Malaysia and the UAE.
