Armin Asiabar was born and raised in Ghazvin, a city close to Iran’s Capital, Tehran. Having studied a degree and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering in his home country, Armin opted to undertake a Masters in Marketing at the University of Lincoln, studying under the International Business School.
Having being awarded a Global Postgraduate Scholarship, Armin was delighted to be offered a place to study at Lincoln, an educational institution that he recognises has substantial links between industry and business, delivers innovative teaching and has been awarded a variety of accolades including Modern University of the Year, as well as ranking highly in the Guardian Rankings and achieving a Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework. In addition to the outstanding educational facilities, Armin had also received recommendations about Lincoln’s beautiful scenery and safe, peaceful surrounding from his twin brother, also a student at Lincoln, studying a PHD under the College of Science. It is an honour that Armin describes Lincoln as his second home!
Armin’s diverse academic background, with a focus where possible on business and industry, has led him to study a Masters in Marketing. Through various roles, and throughout his studies Armin has developed his skills and expertise to ensure he is proficient in web design, programming and video editing as well as enhancing his verbal and written communication skills along with personal skills such as organisation, punctuality and leadership.
Extracurricular opportunities, with the chance to constantly learn, develop and meet new people are highly valued by Armin, therefore, he was delighted to be offered the chance to join the Lincoln International Business School Internal Communications Team earlier this month. He, alongside fellow student Nahal will, alongside their studies, be working with existing staff members to produce high quality and engaging communications for staff and students of the College.
Armin comments:
“I decided to apply for this role to enhance my business workplace knowledge alongside my academic studies. Working alongside highly skilled staff is another key reason I applied for this role as I recognise how much one can learn from being connected to these professionals. I hope that with my digital knowledge and related expertise will enable me to succeed in this role and make a valuable contribution. I highly recommend anyone studying a business degree to apply for a student position such as this, they offer a fantastic opportunity to apply knowledge into practice”
Nahal Azizollahpourmansouri was born and raised in Tehran, studying a BA in Business Administration at Ershad Damavand University.
The Lincoln International Business School was Nahal’s international institution of choice due to its highly rated Marketing programmes along with high performing academics. She opted to move to the UK to experience a multicultural environment, step outside of her comfort zone and expand her professional and educational horizons. The Business School is currently in the process of achieving AACSB accreditation, and this appealed to Nahal, recognising it as a reflection of the faculty’s excellence. Having been a student here for a few week, Nahal commented:
“I find the University of Lincoln so supportive and friendly which will absolutely open windows of opportunities to me, and make my dreams come true”
Within her first fortnight in Lincoln and by utilising the Campus Jobs process, Nahal applied for and was appointed as an Internal Communications Assistant based within the Business School. With an ambition to emerge as a leader in marketing, she is confident that this work experience and all that it entails will help not only her progression, but also the Business School’s communication outputs, and as a team, achieve the academic and social goals of the University.
Nahal comments on her achievement:
“I am so happy to find a relevant vacancy within the university and with a team who are so supportive. I was greeted warmly and really felt that I belonged. This is a unique opportunity and I am confident that a career-oriented education, in a professional environment is the best option for marketing students. It allows for an understanding of global marketing principles, the dissolution of international trade obstacles and develop students to become completely globalized and prepared for a career in the 2020’s”
