Two Lincoln International Business School Staff Receive Queen’s Honours 2022

Charles (Chaz) McKnight, Lecturer in Logistics and Operations Management, and Associate Lecturer Dr Kai Adegbembo were recently honoured by the Queen, each receiving an MBE.

Chaz, who joined the Business School earlier this year was awarded when serving as a Warrant Officer in the Royal Air Force where he delivered an exceptional service to UK Defence as one of their foremost fuels experts, impacting and influencing people, policy, operations and capabilities across traditional boundaries.

Kai, a retired Chief Inspector from Humberside Police was awarded his for services to education, having being a Chair of Governors and continuing to serve as Vice Chair of the TEC Partnership, one of the largest further and higher education groups in England.

Kai commented “I am extremely proud and privileged to receive the honour. I am part of the big architecture of the University of Lincoln intending to increase the intellectual resilience in the locality and soft power internationally. We face the future with purpose and belief.’

Chaz, who studied both his BSc and MSc in Logistics Management at the University of Lincoln added

“To me it is recognition of being part of a fantastic team, a lot of hard work and actually making a difference, not only in Defence, but in the wider community we worked in (much like my current role), and it was an absolute honour to be recognised with an MBE, especially as it is the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year, which makes the award even more significant”
