Congratulations to Jane Deville, Victoria Ellis-Vowles and Liz Price who have been awarded £15,000 from the National Innovation Centre for Rural Enterprise (NICRE). Their project explores the potential for rural pubs to offer co-working space to remote and home workers, and considers the implications for the resilience of pubs and rural communities. The findings and lessons learned will be distilled into a Rural Co-working Pub Toolkit to provide practical guidance to the pub industry, rural pub managers and those working in rural community development. You can find out more about the project here: https://nicre.co.uk/research-and-evidence/co-working-in-rural-pubs/
This is the second NICRE project awarded to LIBS. Last year Liz Price, Barry Ardley and Gary Bosworth completed a project on Innovation in Rural and Agricultural Shows, which explored the immediate response of show organisers to the Covid-19 pandemic and their evolving role in the rural economy: https://nicre.co.uk/blog/2022/december/innovation-and-continuity-the-challenges-facing-rural-shows/
