We are very proud of our Business School colleagues Tony Clark and Nicki Wood who recently won awards at the May Lincoln Student Union Awards
Tony a Senior Lecturer in Logistics Management was awarded with Inspirational Teacher of the Year and Nicki, Senior Lecturer in Accountancy and Finance with the Educational Impact Award.
Tony received multiple nominations from military students on the Defence Logistics Staff course for his valued contribution to their learning journey. Here is one of the four nominations made about Tony:
“As a work-based distance learning student, Tony Clark has had a phenomenal impact on the Defence Logistics Staff Course. During residential week, he was always present to break down the academic theory into a format that military students can grasp. I am nearing the end of my course and I can honestly say that without him, I would not have finished this course of study. He is patient and is always available to listen and challenge the military and civil service students to think more broadly. Even when duty calls and work and study become stressful, Tony is always an email or phone call away with advice and providing valuable feedback. He is a well deserving nominee for Inspirational Teacher of the Year”.
Tony commented on his award :
“ I am really surprised and proud of receiving a nomination and winning this award when there is such fierce competition within the university and particularly within LIBS.
I am of course very pleased to be an award winner and to have been recognised by the student community. As an academic, I think recognition by the student body is the highest accolade that one can receive. I am well supported by colleagues which enables me to be able to provide the best teaching and learning experience to students. The WBDL administration team are an essential part of being able to manage student progress and they support with appropriate interventions to booster the student experience. Likewise, lecturers delivering the entire programme are also key to enable us to create a community of learning and set the foundations for an exceptional learning journey”.
The nomination for Nicki read:
“Nicki is an exceptional tutor, she is committed to supporting students who are passionate about learning. She is diligent, approachable, and genuinely invested in their success. Nicki has a positive impact on her Students’ education and her teaching style makes learning enjoyable and engaging. She is a valuable asset to the University of Lincoln”.
